Our Specialities
General Ophthalmology
We have a dedicated General Ophthalmology department focused on holistic eye checkup services like:
- Spectacle Correction
- Vision Checking
- Intraocular Pressure Check
- Retinal Examination
- Diabetic Retinopathy Screening
Cataract Department
- In-depth history recording
- Visual acuity to measure the near and distant vision
- Dilated eye examination to analyze the dilated pupil with eye drops
- Slit lamp examination, where the grade of the cataract is examined
Vitreo Retina & Uvea Department
New Vision offers excellent treatment for all types of retina diseases, which range from retinal detachment, diabetic retinopathy, and macular degeneration, with Zeiss spectral domain oct and fluorescent angiography etc. We test for all symptoms of Retinal diseases like loss of vision, floaters, flashes of light, distortion of images, etc.
The major examinations and functions of our department include:
- Amsler Grid Test
- Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT)
- Fundus Autofluorescence (FAF)
- B-Scan Ultrasound
- Vitectomy
- Intravitreal Injections
- Pan Retinal Photocoagulation (PRP)
Amsler grid test : Amsler grid is used to examine the clarity of your central vision.
Optical coherence tomography (OCT) : The best test to capture precise images of the retina and carry out the diagnosis of epiretinal membranes, macular holes and macular swelling (edema). Monitors depth of wet macular degeneration due to age and evaluates the responses to treatment.
Fundus autofluorescence (FAF) : Technique used to analyze the progress of retinal diseases, such as macular degeneration. FAF magnifies the retinal pigment called lipofuscin which rises with retinal damage or any dysfunctions in the retina.
Fluorescein angiography : It aids in the process of preventing blood vessels from standing out in the retina with a special technique. This detects closed blood vessels, abnormal blood vessels, leaking vessels, or any particular changes behind the eye.
B-Scan Ultrasound : It implements ultrasonography, ie. high-frequency sound waves to view the various structures in the eye including the retina. It also evaluates the tissue characteristics that augment the diagnosis and treatment of eye tumours.
Vitectomy : This surgery eliminates certain or all kinds of vitreous tumours from the eye.
Intravitreal Injections : Certain medicines need to be injected directly into the eye since no other route can serve the need. These could be steroids and anti-VEGF agents injected into the eyes, which treat age-specific macular edema and macular degradation.
Pan Retinal Photocoagulation (PRP) : This process is used to cover the blood vessels in the eye. In some cases of diabetic retinopathy, you use the technique to avoid new vessels from forming in the eyes.
Glaucoma Department
Pediatric Ophthalmology
- Eye infections in children
- Amblyopia
- Refractive errors like myopia (near-sightedness), hyperopia (far-sightedness) and astigmatism, generally you can control and correct them with prescriptions for glasses or contact lenses.
Community Ophthalmology
Contact Lens
We make sure you experience using the best long-lasting wear contact lenses with silicone hydrogel— the material that uses water absorbing characteristics of soft lenses using silicone. The lenses thus stay moist and let more oxygen transmit along contact lenses to your eyes.
Myopia Clinic
When the eyeball is longer or the outer protective eye layer called the cornea is too curved, the light entering the eye doesn’t let you focus. Myopia clinic engages in the treatment option for this condition, which is mostly found in children aged between 5 and 15 years.
Dry Eye Treatment
We have special diagnoses and treatments for dry eye which is a common eye disease. This happens when either eye doesn’t generate enough tears or when they evaporate fast. The symptoms could be redness, irritation, blurred vision, discharge, etc.
Myopia Department
We are very excited to introduce you to myopia clinic at New Vision Eye Hospital. Our friendly and engaging optometrists, along with efficient doctors, specifically treat myopia in children and young adults. We offer a comfortable and inclusive environment where even our youngest patients can feel safe.
Aim: Flatten the myopia curve.
Goal: To reduce the progression of myopia by slowing the accelerated growth of the eye.
With specialized equipment and techniques, we determine the different parameters of the eyeball structure to evaluate the prescription, size, and shape of the eye. A detailed history and risk factors are also considered when determining the most effective treatment plan. Regular follow-up visits also help to ensure the treatment is successful.
The treatment plan includes:
- Spectacle (including Stellest)
- Contact Lens
- Eye drop (Low dose Atropine)
